RETIRED POLICE DOG BUDDY

#RPDBuddy is a male working cocker spaniel, he served with Gwent Police as a drugs, cash and firearms detection dog between 2011 - 2020.

 

He was gifted to us by a family in the Cardiff area as he was a bundle of energy with real potential for police work. 

 

He flew through his initial training course which was run in Gwent and was soon finding scores of drugs and cash.

 

He received a Chief Constable’s commendation and team of the year award with his handler for his work within the first few years of his career. 

 

#RPDBuddy was retired when reaching normal retirement age and a short scare with cancer, he lives a very happy life with bestie #RPDTaylor and handler. 

 

Now he loves to ignore his handler and only has eyes for his mum and anyone willing to give him food.
